Why Writing Guides?

​

As much as I love world-building and character development, sometimes I just want a quick set-up so I can get to the actual writing. When I tried using other templates to map out my ideas, I usually ended up brainstorming/writing too much irrelevant and/or not enough relevant information to make the story and world come to life. So, I devised my own guides that would quickly and easily spotlight the most important things to consider.

 

The guides will:

• Provide quick notes/references to look back on

 

• Save time on creation by focusing on what you need

 

• Spark new ideas for story, plot, scenes, or characters

 

• Remind you to address the vital but often forgotten world, story, or character questions

 

• Link story elements (like setting, character, plot, etc…) together so they don’t sit as separate pieces with nothing in common.
