SETTING Guides
Your setting is like a character. It can set the tone of a scene, spur emotion, or drive the plot/conflict. By surrounding your audience with sensory details and descriptions, they can feel as though they are standing in your world, be it an actual place or a fantasy realm.
You probably won’t use all of the information in the guide for your story, but knowing what is going on behind the curtain will make the stage feel authentic. You will need different details depending on the type of setting. Choose from the options below for the setting that works best for you.
Establishment Setting Guide
For smaller populated settings within a larger settlement such as: A school, prison, factory, space station, shopping center, amusement park, plantation, or hospital.
Focused Setting Guide
For small nature areas, indoor settings, and transportation. Used for places like: a room, a house, a cave, a ship, an airplane, a tunnel, or a cafe.
